Teacher
education programme today train teachers to adjust to
system in which education is seen as the transmission
of information. But it needs to be more sensitive to
the emerging demands from the school system. The aim
of teacher education programme should be to enable student
–teachers to care for children; understand them
in their social, cultural and political contest; be
receptive and constantly learning; take learning as
a search for meaning out of personal experiences; own
responsibility towards society; appreciate the potential
of productive work.
